Who doesn’t love to go shopping? I love to go shopping, usually. I will say, though, that Black Friday is my favorite time of the year to shop! You can find so many good deals on that day, and generally for several days after. It’s always fun to see what kind of deals you can find for yourself and for gifts for others.
Traditions
Each year, my husband and I go Black Friday shopping together. We leave super early in the morning (way earlier than anyone should ever be awake..haha), and go stand in line in the freezing cold. After a few hours, we go to a restaurant and have breakfast together. We try to make it a habit to try some kind of breakfast dish that we’ve never ordered before. Last year was crepes with eggs, ham and sauce. Delicious!!
Favorites
One of our favorite stores to shop at is Kohl’s. I can go into Kohl’s and just walk around for hours looking at everything they carry. The selection is always fantastic, and they constantly have sales. For Black Friday, they have even more amazing deals, and we can shop for everyone there! They really do have something for everyone. They have an amazing kitchen section, which is where I could lose myself for hours. I love to cook, and Kohl’s carries so many kitchen gadgets!
My oldest son loves to shop in the men’s clothing section, because they carry name brand clothing. He loves to buy Adidas brand, and Kohl’s never fails in having a great selection for him to choose from. They carry lots of sports team themed apparel as well, which is great for gearing up for your games. My youngest son loves shopping the toys section. They have toys for all age ranges, and lots to choose from.
I remember my first time going Black Friday shopping years ago. I went with my Mother and my uncle. We had such a great time, and got a ton of deals. We spent all of Thanksgiving day scouring the Black Friday ads and making lists for each store. Of course, the challenge was getting to the sale items before they sold out. That’s always a challenge every year, because everyone wants the goods!
Sometimes it isn’t even Christmas gifts that I am buying. I look for household supplies, like pet supplies, to stock up on. I have 8 cats, so stocking up on cat litter during a Black Friday sale is a smart way to go. You can generally find food items, clothing, supplies, toys, electronics, jewelry, etc., during these sales. You can purchase Christmas gifts, yes, but you can also purchase gifts for throughout the year. Imagine having all of the birthday gifts you will need for the next year all bought, because of amazing Black Friday sales!

I’ve told you about my Black Friday traditions, so now tell me about yours. What do you do on Black Friday? Do you go out shopping or do you shop at home online? What is your favorite store to shop at? Do you have any special traditions for Black Friday? I would love to hear from you!
