Goetze’s is hosting a recipe contest this fall season to celebrate their 100th anniversary! I decided to enter and see what I can come up with. Their caramel creams are so delicious, that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a yummy recipe with them! So, I thought and thought, and finally figured out what I wanted to do. Being a parent is hard work, and sometimes at the end of the day we want a little indulgence. Most of the time, we are too tired to even consider making a dessert, so I’ve found a way to have your dessert without spending hours cooking it!
For this contest I have found the perfect recipe for a delicious, caramel filled, mug cake. This cake is filling, and can be completed entirely in less than 10 minutes! As a tired mama bear, I can tell you that being able to fix a dessert in a small amount of time is truly a blessing!
You can find the contest entries on Facebook, and on the Caramel Creams website! Go vote for your favorite now!
Busy Day Caramel Mug Cake
By Majenica Moles
What you will need:
- 1 store bought mug cake of your choice (I used Duncan Hines)
- 1 Mug
- 5 Goetze’s Caramel Creams Candies
- 3 Tablespoons water
- 1 Tablespoon Half & Half
- Knife
- Cutting Board
- Spoon
Pour pouch of mug cake into your mug. Add 3 Tablespoons of water, stir well.
Take 3 of the Caramel Creams and chop them into small pieces. Add to your mug, stir well.
Microwave about 1 minute, or until set. My microwave is 700 watts, and 1 minutes was perfect. After it’s done, let it sit to cool while making the topping.
Chop 2 Caramel Creams and stir together with 1 Tablespoon Half & Half.
Microwave in 5 second increments until candy is melted. Stir well to make a caramel sauce.
Drizzle or spread on top of your mug cake, and enjoy!
