About Home Chef Meal Delivery

Every day, you’re out there making things happen. That’s why our CEO, Pat Vihtelic, created Home Chef: to provide everything you need to bring more delicious meals and moments to the table, no matter how busy you are. Because at Home Chef, we believe that preparing and enjoying a home-cooked meal should be a simply delicious experience.
In fact, simplicity is our mantra. From online to doorstep…to your kitchen table, we make planning and preparing a home-cooked meal simple, intuitive and inspirational every step of the way.
In 2013, Pat started Home Chef by partnering with a chef to design delicious, easy-to-follow recipes. Since then, our team has grown to include several chefs, and more than 700 employees across production, marketing, technology, product, design, and customer service. Last year, we delivered over 10 million meals and expanded our delivery to cover more than 97% of the U.S. population. Some days — okay, most days — we can’t believe how quickly we’ve grown. But we believe that people continue to love Home Chef for the same reasons it was founded: it saves time, reduces food waste, and most importantly, brings people together for a home-cooked meal.

 What I Receivedmeal delivery

I received two meals to prepare: Southern Fried Pork Chop and Sunday Supper “Pot Roast” Steak. Each meal came with every necessary ingredient needed to prepare the meal. This made things especially easy because I didn’t have to run to the grocery to purchase additional ingredients. The veggies were extremely fresh, as if they were just picked from a garden. The meat was vacuum sealed to retain freshness, and the dairy products were all fresh as well.
The recipes themselves were very easy to prepare, taking less than 30 minutes each. The recipe cards spelled out every step without any problems with understanding them. I really enjoyed the fact that they sent a Home Chef binder to store your recipes in, so that you can recreate them at a later time.
The food came packaged in refrigerated box, with ice packs to keep it cold. The ice packs were reusable, so as not to waste!

You can see the three ring punch in the recipe cards, so that they can be easily stored in a binder. The front of the recipe card has a picture of the meal, while the backside lists all steps needed.

Cost

Now, I know you are all wondering what the cost is for this meal delivery service. It can be a bit pricey, averaging around $40 for 2 meals that feed 2 people. If you need to increase your serving size, you can just bump it up for an additional cost.

The meals you get with this service are absolutely delicious, and since trying it, we have incorporated some recipes into our regular menu, like the oven roasted green beans. You have the ability to choose how many meals per week you want to order, as well as how often you want delivery. For instance, you can choose to have 1 meal delivered every week, or every other week. The choice is yours.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of our meals after they were prepared. To be quite honest, the meals smelled and looked so yummy, that we didn’t wait to dig in!
