I would love, more than anything, to be able to remodel my bathroom. Right now, there really isn’t a ton wrong with it, to warrant spending thousands of dollars remodeling it. That doesn’t mean I don’t think about remodeling it all of the time! Let’s take a look at some of the stuff I would change.

Bath Tub

My tub is entirely too small. Not only can I not fit very comfortably, my 6 foot tall son cannot, either. Everyone needs to be able to soak in a hot tub, with bubbles and essential oils, sometimes. This is not a thing that we can do with our current tub. What would I do to change that, you ask? Well, I wouldn’t put a rinky dink tub in, that’s for sure! I would love to have a garden tub, with jets! I can almost feel the super hot water and the jets running…..it would be so relaxing. The tub would need to be large enough for two people, because nobody wants to be squished in their tub.

Shower

I love the idea of a stand alone shower. I wouldn’t mind having a Kohler LuxStone shower, to be honest. There are so many beautiful patterns to choose from, that I would have a hard time picking just one! I have never had a stand alone shower before, other than an apartment where I didn’t have a bath tub. I would love one done in a beautiful stone pattern, with a rainfall shower head. It sounds so luxurious just thinking about it.  I like the idea of having both the shower and the tub, because a girl likes to have choices.

Sink

My ideal sink for the bathroom would be a double sink. One for me and one for everyone else..haha! Actually, it would end up being two sinks for the cats and none for us. Those boogers like to take over the sink to drink from the faucet. But seriously, though, it would be great to have a double sink, so that we had more counter space. Right now we have a tiny sink with just enough room to put our toothbrushes on it. It would be nice to have the extra room, that’s for sure. It would have drawers to keep my makeup and hair stuff in, and plenty of space underneath to store the bathroom cleaners, trash bags and paper goods. I’m not super picky about the counter top material. I’m kind of cheap, so I wouldn’t want anything too outrageous in price, but a simple counter would do.

Flooring

This is a hard one. On one hand, I would love tile in my bathroom. I feel that tile is a great flooring choice for that room. On the other hand, I love hard wood flooring. It really is a hard decision to make. I think I would probably do the hard wood flooring, just because it’s timeless and goes with absolutely any decor I would choose. But, the question then becomes whether I want dark or light hard wood. It’s never ending..haha.

Walls

Right now my walls are this weird popcorn style, with paint splashes on them. While I like the paint, I absolutely hate the popcorn style. It makes the walls so rough that I can’t put decals or anything on them. I would much prefer a smooth wall, plain, even. I think a pretty grey would be pleasing to the eye.

Now, I know I didn’t touch on the toilet, but to be honest, I’m not worried about what I would put in for that. A cheap toilet that does its job is fine with me! It doesn’t need to be fancy, or have a bidet. Cheap and functional is the key!

What would you do to your bathroom if you were to remodel?
