About Nielsen-Massey

At Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, we have been crafting the world’s finest vanillas and flavors since 1907. Founded by Richard Massey, who later partnered with Chatfield Nielsen, Sr, our company is still a family-owned operation run by the third generation of Nielsens: Craig Nielsen, Matt Nielsen and Beth Nielsen.

Pure Coffee Extract

The rich, freshly brewed flavor of our Pure Coffee Extract is achieved through our careful distillation of premium coffee beans. The full-bodied flavor enhances frozen desserts, baked goods and cocoa as well as savory dishes, like soups, gravies, tomato sauces and salsas. Plus, this concentrated extract is easy to keep on hand, unlike ground coffee or beans, which rapidly lose their flavor.

1 tsp. Coffee Extract = 1 tsp. Dry Espresso Powder

1 tsp. Coffee Extract + ¼ cup Water = ¼ cup Brewed Coffee

My Thoughts

I love to cook, so I was excited to get these items for review. The coffee extract is great for flavoring while baking, or as a cup of coffee. It makes a mean iced coffee! My boys like the Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Sugar on toast. They say it tastes better than the usual cinnamon sugar. Who am I to question that? HAHA. It is also great for baking! It delicious sprinkled on top of fresh sugar cookies!
The caramels that came in this box are scrumptious! I had my doubts about the black lava sea salt, because, well, it sounded weird. But, boy are they delicious! The caramels are smooth, and seemingly melt in your mouth. Overall, these items are all worth trying, and if you have a baker in your family, this is the perfect gift!
