About Starkist

StarKist Co. is a food company that is focused on healthy, shelf-stable seafood products in the United States. An industry innovator, StarKist was the first brand to introduce StarKist single-serve pouch products, which include Tuna Creations®, Salmon Creations® and StarKist Selects®. As America’s favorite tuna, StarKist represents a tradition of quality, consumer trust and a commitment to sustainability. StarKist Co. originated from the French Sardine Company, founded in 1917, and first marketed tuna under the StarKist name in 1942. Our charismatic brand icon, Charlie® the Tuna, swam into the hearts of tuna fans in 1961 and is still a fan favorite today. StarKist Co. is a subsidiary of the Dongwon Group.

My Thoughts

Starkist is a staple in my house. I homeschool my boys, and my youngest son loves to have tuna for his lunch. Starkist Creations makes this easy with their easy open pouches. They have a plethora of flavors, so there is something for everyone. They even have salmon!
My Austin likes them plain, and just adds some salt. By plain, I mean that he doesn’t like it made into tuna salad. He loves the different flavors that are offered, and so far his favorite flavor is Thai Chili Style. It has heat, but is sweet at the same time.
These are great for making lunches for your school kiddos. They are great for homeschool kiddos as well, as they are a quick and nutritious food! They offer flavored tuna and salmon, but they also offer pre-made tuna salad. If you are like my son, he just opens the top of the foil pack and eats the tuna with a fork. No bowl, no mess!
