In the little town where I grew up, we had a festival each year called Glass Days. This was named because we were known for our glass factories. One has since closed, and the other has been through more names than I can count. But, one thing that I always associate with this festival is cotton candy.

Going to the Glass Days festival was always “the thing” when I was growing up. Each year they would have a parade and rides. And of course, cotton candy. Back in the day, you could get your cotton candy on one of those cones, but nowadays it’s just put into a bag. When I would get cotton candy I could never eat it all at once like some do. That was entirely too much sugar for me, haha! My youngest son loves cotton candy, but my oldest son does not. That’s ok, though, we can’t all have good taste buds 😉

I recently had an opportunity to try out a machine that will allow me to make cotton candy at home. When I received the package, I was surprised to see that the different sugars were flavored. Let me explain, haha! When I eat cotton candy, I really only taste sugar. It never occurred to me that it was supposed to be flavored. I just thought it was colored only, you know, blue, pink, etc. My husband had a good laugh at my expense when I told him, haha!

Well, I decided that I wanted to try it out right away. I was curious about the flavors. They had sent me grape, blue raspberry, and cherry. I decided to go with cherry first. Well, the first thing I noticed is how stinking easy it is to set this machine up and get going. It took less than a minute. Say what?!?!?! Next up came the task of turning it on to run for a couple of minutes to warm up. It will have a funky smell at first, but that’s because it’s new. It goes away pretty quickly.

So, next up I put the scoop of cherry sugar in the little contraption. Y’all! Let me just tell you how terrible I am at making cotton candy look pretty on the stick! It looked so pitiful…lol! I know I will get better as I practice, but holy cannoli, it was bad..lol. But, the flavor!! I could actually taste the cherry! I couldn’t believe it! Maybe the cotton candy from my youth wasn’t flavored? I didn’t know what to do with this information now! The Cotton Candy Express makes amazing cotton candy! Like seriously! The clean up was super easy, as well! Everything wiped down nice and easy!

The Cotton Candy Express is just $59.99 and offers 10 different flavors of floss for $6.99 each on their website:
