If you are looking for a great smartwatch, that won’t break the bank, then look no further than Vivitar!
About Vivitar
Vivitar was founded in 1938 as ‘Ponder and Best’ by Max Ponder and John Best in Santa Monica, California. Max Ponder headed the sales department, while John Best ran the operations side of the company. Ponder and Best began by importing German-made photo equipment.
Ponder and Best created the “Vivitar” brand in 1960 to compete with major lens manufacturers. The company commissioned experienced lens designers and top-line Japanese optical lens manufacturers such as Kino Precision to produce their lens designs. By carefully positioning their limited product line with key photo retailers, they quickly built a reputation for good quality lenses at modest prices. As their reputation grew, many manufacturer’s deemed them as the go-to brand to carry their products.
Sakar International acquired Vivitar in August 2008 and quickly began to develop a line of digital cameras to bring to market.

My thoughts
The watch I received, TYL-7201, is aimed at the Android user. I am an iPhone user, so I let my son use it with his Android tablet! I love how easy it was to set it up and start using it. It paired with the tablet perfectly, and flawlessly. There are so many options on it, and my son and I spent forever just playing with it..haha. You can text and call from it, which is awesome! It’s super hard to talk on an actual phone while exercising, or if you are out and about doing stuff in nature.
I love the built in pedometer. Tracking my steps each day is fun for my son. He likes to see if he can beat the prior day’s amount. The band itself fits nicely, and I never have to worry about it falling off of his wrist and getting lost. It doesn’t weigh much, so it’s not heavy and bulky. My son has quickly fallen in love with this watch, and wears it much of the time! He walks daily, and loves seeing the step count increase.
