This another cute Abigail book by Tali Carmi. Yes, I am an adult, and yes, I am 37 years old. BUT, I still like to read kids books 🙂 I absolutely love how Abigail has all of these adventures on her red bicycle that her grandfather built. Whether these adventures are real or imaginary, they are awesome. In this book Abigail is tired of winter and cold weather. She wants to go someplace where there is no winter. So, she gets on her bicycle and says the magic words to start on her way. She lands on a tropical island and is immediately introduced to Lelei, who is listening to a conch shell. She then meets Maru, who is a pearl diver. Lelei invites her home to a birthday party, and Abigail goes. After the party, Lelei sends a grass skirt home with Abigail, and Abigail returns home.  Her mother just thinks she has an active imagination, but wonders where that skirt came from!
