Our formulas are what make us special. We do things differently here at Charlie’s Soap because in our case, different is better.
Not only have they had years of industry field tests, but our formulas have been tested by a third-party proving that they do work (SGS US Testing Labs). They have also been certified to have a low environmental impact (Japan Food Research Labs and Situ Biosciences, LLC).
Recently, Green Seal performed a product evaluation on our line for Whole Foods. We obtained a yellow rating for Whole Foods’ nationally acclaimed Eco Scale Program. All of these accolades have been achieved with simple, yet innovative science.
Our green ingredients
Charlie’s Soap’s raw materials can be separated into two categories, biodegradable ingredients and natural mineral ingredients.
Our products surpassed thresholds for “ultimate biodegradation” within a month’s time. They were also rated safe for use around lakes and streams.
One hundred percent of the remaining products fall under the natural mineral category. Our final formulas have been approved by the USDA for use around food preparing surfaces and are non-toxic.

My thoughts..
To be quite honest, I’m not the laundry person in our house. My husband is. He starts the wash every morning before heading to work, and I switch it to the dryer. Having said that, he has been extremely impressed with the laundry soap! The fact that it only take 1 tablespoon per wash is amazing. The bag you see in the picture above? It is lasting forever! Seriously. We started using it the day after receiving it on April 4th, and we still have plenty left.
Now, my husband was pretty skeptical at first, because he is rather picky with laundry detergent. So he mumbled about it probably not working, and how it would make more work since we would have to re-wash the clothes. But he tried it anyways, and now he’s glad that he did! it gets our clothes clean, and even though it’s powder, there is no powder residue left on the clothing. We also received some liquid detergent to try out, and it works just as well as the powder. Really, these detergents are great, and they don’t interfere with allergies, and there’s no overwhelming scent to them. In addition to the powder and liquid, this also comes in pods that you just throw in without having to measure.
We also received some cleaner. Honestly, I expected some kind of floral type of scent, or something. What I got was just pure, unscented cleaner. They are labeled as kitchen & bathroom cleaner as well as outdoor cleaner. So, I keep the bottle of kitchen/bathroom cleaner on my kitchen counter. I use it daily, and I really love how clean it gets my counters. It has quickly become my go-to cleaner. The outside cleaner is used in the garage, on our tables and such. We host cookouts throughout the summer months, as well as dinners at the holidays. This cleaner has really cleaned up those tables in the garage! They look great again, instead of used and gross.
Overall, I am extremely happy with Charlie’s Soap products, and I will definitely be using these from now on!
