We are avid potato chip eaters around here. We have eaten regular potato chips, and we’ve eaten some weird chips (think sausage gravy and biscuits..). When we got the chance to try chips from The Billy Goat Chip Company, we were excited!

About the company…

As professional chefs and restaurateurs, we realized that the artisanship and quality of our signature Billy Goat Chip was superior to anything found in the snack food aisle. We intended to change that.  In 2009 we started The Billy Goat Chip Company.
Placing high quality ingredients and hand crafted care at the top of the list, we employ the same techniques used at our restaurant to achieve a product that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but perhaps even the best potato chip on the market.

Flavors and Sizes

These chips come in a variety of sizes, and three flavors:

  • Original: snack size ($19.99 for 20), 3oz ($51.99 for 20), 16oz ($19.99 for 2)
  • Kicker: snack size ($19.99 for 20), 3oz ($51.99 for 20), 16oz ($19.99 for 2)
  • Sweet Potato: snack size ($19.99 for 20), 3oz ($51.99 for 20), 16oz ($19.99 for 2)

The chips have a nice crunch to them, and they don’t break easily like most chips do. The original ones have a mild flavor that would appeal to anyone. The kicker flavor, however, adds a bit of kick! The sweet potato chips are great for those that love sweet potatoes. I love the little snack size bags because I can hand one to my son and know that it’s a perfect portion. He has the tendency to push the limits when he gets a bowl of potato chips. He will literally fill the bowl to overflowing. The snack bags work great for packing lunches or road trips!

Did someone say dip?

So, around my house, when I make homemade chips, I have multiple requests to make a homemade dip. Well, when I got these chips they tasted so much like homemade that I decided to whip up some dip to see how it worked out. It was amazing! It was only 2 ingredients to  yummy goodness!
Chipotle Ranch Dip
Chipotle Honey BBQ sauce
Ranch salad dressing
Instructions: use a 2:1 ratio with this, and it will work well in any portion size. For instance, I use 1 cup Chipotle Honey BBQ sauce, and 1/2 cup ranch salad dressing. You can tweak it to the spice level you want by adding more or less of one ingredient.
